I first learned this skill while reading for my MBA in 1999. The very first time I used the basic technique properly, my reading speed jumped from around 300 words per minute to 600. That stayed with me.

Much later, in 2008, a friend asked me to teach what I knew to his team of consultants. That was the beginning of what became Lightning Reading.

Since then, I have taught more than 4,000 people from 24 countries — and over time, what began as speed reading evolved into a fuller, more practical system for reading with more speed, stronger understanding, better retention, and less overload. I still use it myself, and my family uses it too.
